I know, I'm failing at LJ right now, LOL. I have like a million comments to reply to and no time in which to do them!! D:

I'm driving up to my parent's place today (I'm already running late) and I'll be up there for the US election - though we're only having an hour of TV coverage!! D: I'm voting that someone gets their webcam and points it at their TV for me, LOLOL XDDD I dunno if I'm going to get pissed if Obama or McCain wins though... LOL. I suspect I'd be too angry if McCain won to get sloshed... XDDDD

In other news, I got a new sketchbook and I had that "blank page syndrome", LOL. I did an AWESOME Remus/Tonks picture in the end. But now I'm suffering it again, hahaha XDDDD I don't think it'll go away until I draw something super bad XDDDD

Telstra is fucking me around atm. I wanted to boost up my internet, so I rang them a few weeks ago after my usage dropped to dial-up coz I'd gone over 12GB ^^; and they said they'd up it. But it still hasn't happened. And my bill is now 10 days late. UGH. So I rang them and talked to two different people both of whom were about as useful as a chocolate teapot. The woman said that she'd make a note that I'd tried to get in contact with them about it if there were any fees or anything. Sigh. Why don't I trust them? LOL.

I WATCHED SEASON THREE OF SUPERNATURAL!! And now I'm on like episode 5 of season 4 :D YAY CAUGHT UP :D

And finally...

From The West Wing:

Vinick: You're not an unthinking Liberal. Are you?

Santos: I know you like to use that word, Liberal, as if it were a crime.

Vinick: I'm sorry I shouldn't have used that word, I know Democrats think Liberal is a bad word. So bad you had to change it, didn't you? What do you call yourselves now? Progressives? Is that it?

Santos: It's true. Republicans have tried to turn Liberal into a bad word. Well, Liberals ended slavery in this country.

Vinick: A Republican president ended slavery.

Santos: Yes, a Liberal Republican, Senator. What happened to them? They got run out of your Party. What did Liberals do that was so offensive to the Liberal Party? I'll tell you what they did. Liberals got women the right to vote. Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote. Liberals created social security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty. Liberals ended segregation. Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, Liberals created Medicare. Liberals passed the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act.

What did Conservatives do? They opposed every single one of those things. Every one.

So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, Liberal, as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work, Senator. Because I will pick up that label, and I will wear it as a badge of honour.

Anyone else get freaked out when you watch TWW and then see that guy in Dexter? LOLOLOL XDDDD

Peace,
Rotae

CNN tends to stream their coverage of all things election online if you can see it outside of the US =]

Won't some news channels (like CNN) be doing live broadcasting via their websites too? And you don't get CNN International in Australia? It airs in Armenia, so I clung to it for election news all summer xD

We don't get a CNN channel here... well, we do, but you have to have Austar for it (like cable). We only have five channels (six if you count ABC2). Actually, SBS might have some more coverage I'm not aware of... they're meant to have a news station, but it'll probably German or Armenian news or something, LOL XD

I'm sure I'll find a way!! :D

Peace,
Rotae

First, I have to say BEST ICON EVAR!

Second, rotfl at my idiocy, 'cause here "pissed" generally means angry, and I forgot most of the world uses it for drunk! LOLZ! I totally was like, WHAT? She'll be mad if either wins?? WAH?

And third, when it comes to the sketchbook "blank page syndrome" just skip the first page and start on the second! I always do. That first page is too much pressure, man!!

HAHAHA, IKR?! It's so appropriate for this post too XDDDD

LOL, yeah, we use it for angry too... I guess I should be more specific... LOL XDDDD

I totally did that too... and I STILL HAVE IT!! Now that I've done such a good drawing, I'm afraid of the rest of the book!! D: LOLOL XDDD

Peace,
Rotae

I went to the Deloraine arts and crafts fair yesterday and saw your mum & dad. We talked about how awesome your fringe is! I am off to Launny today, wish I was hanging around so I could see you whilst you were down here.

Freakin' Telstra, man. How much are you paying for 12GB? It's around $70, yeah? 'Cos we were on that plan, and then my brother decided to look up what other plans they had (we were going over 12GB pretty much every month, heh), and found out that there was a 25GB deal for $80/month! Only ten more dollars for an extra 13GB! Telstra didn't even advertise it or anything, either. So, we immediately upgraded.

Mmm, I remember that West Wing episode from ages ago! I loved that part.

Also, YAY for Supernatural!

(Also, Telstra sucks SO hard and I mostly want to punch things in the face when I have to deal with them, but... I totally want a teapot made out of Tim Tams.)

The word "liberal" has been thrown in the mud by everyone. Just look at the Liberal Party in Australia. Menzies pretty much founded it on economic liberalism, but that's not the way "liberal" is used as "left-wing" now. And then there's "social liberalism" and also the debate between "liberalism and individualism." Then there's "neo-liberalism," which really is "classic liberalism," which has mostly be a right-wing idea.

I say we get rid of the term. To heck with "liberalism."

oh that sucks. you can probably watch live coverage somewhere on the internet. Or if the connection's too slow, do they have like a pendulum thing that we have for our elections? you could watch that. (I will find some way to keep up >.>) . Hee - maybe I can convince my mother to let me have a celebratory glass of alcohol if Obama wins. (I don't think I should get drunk though... XD I will already be extremely loud and full of squee/rantage.)

Telstra is made of fail. Every now and then out internet just WONT LOAD ANY WEBPAGES. WTF. SO we have to ring customer support, and they take us through all the things (that we have already done!) and then our connection starts working again >.> bastards.
