SO. I am currently in my home town doing Professional Experience (PE) at a Primary (Elementary) School... and I'm kinda loving it more than a prospective High School teacher should, LOL. The kids are so cute and full of learning and "OMFG WOW"ness XDDDDD

As part of our assessment we have to write about our experiences and write reflectively, so I'm going to tell you about two things that happened today that probably don't interest anyone but me and my assessors when I get all my thoughts down :D

1. In maths today we were talking about fractions and where they fit on a number line between 0 and 1. They were great with 1/2, 1/4 and 3/4, but had a bit of trouble figuring out where 1/3 would be exactly in relation to the previous fractions. So we had a bit of a "think, pair, share" where they turned to their neighbour and thought about how they could figure it out. Here's what one pair said:

Boy 1: What about if we just put it half-way between 1/4 and 1/2? [a pretty reasonable guess, I thought]
Boy 2: Nah, because then that would be 3/8ths.

O___________________________________o DUDE. HOLY FUCK. LOL. That was my reaction to this. HAHA. There is NO WAY that kid should have known that. I just thought it was AWESOME that a kid could just be so casual about knowing something like that, LOL.

2. Miss Smith (not her real name, LOL) was reading a book aloud to the class (they're doing this for most of term, I think and then watching the film), and I, as usual was scribbling in my book while listening (a habit I picked up from lectures I think, LOL). A while later she came to talk to Kristen (the other Student Teacher) and I and she noticed my scribbling (it was of Draco's posture. Yes. I know. You're all so surprised. STFU. LOL) and showed it to the rest of the class 0.o

"Would you like Miss F to take you for an art lesson?"
"YES!!!!!!!!"

Here's me, TOTALLY embarrassed because, omfg, it's in PEN and scribbly and horrible and LAME and his head's on wrong and WTF WHY ARE YOU SHOWING THIS TO PEOPLE?! XDDDDDD And then Kristen saw that I was all, "NUUUUU WHUT ARE YOU DOING?!" and was like, "SHE HAS OTHER STUFF".

TRAITOR.

So I go and get my book and show the stuff that I do like (luckily I only had one naughty picture to skim over >.> LOL. Remind me not to draw FIVE slash while at school XDDDD), and I had basically the ENTIRE CLASS crowding around me going,

Me: This is Ron and Hemione
Them: FROM HARRY POTTER?!
Me: Yeah!
Them: OMG I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!
Me: And this is Katara and Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Them: OMG I LOVE AVATAR!!!
Them: MY BROTHER LOVES AVATAR!!
Them: AVATAR IS AWESOME!!
Me: And Helga and Arnold from Hey Arnold!.
Them: I USED TO WATCH THAT SHOW.

And then a little later Miss Smith saw my portrait of Tom that I'm working on, and her jaw dropped and she grabbed my book and showed it to the class, and they all went,

Students: WOW!!!!!!!
Boy: Who's that?
Miss Smith: Her boyfriend.
Kristen & I: HAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA.

I LOLED. HAHA. Anyway. I was amused.

So I'm thinking maybe I should teach 5/6 just to boost my ego, LOL XDDDDDD But it's great, because now they're coming up and talking to me and showing me their art and looking at me like I'm all powerful or something, ahahaha :D

So yes. I had to write those down so I don't forget :D

Well, Team Tonks ended up coming second. :( AWW. WE WAS ROBBED, I TELL YOU!! LOL XDDDD To quote joannabanana23, "First is worst, second is best" LOLOL XDDDD

I have to admit I'm a little saddened. We lead all term, to lose at Hogsmeade because only four of our team participated. And that's what sucks! I KNOW that if just a couple more people had entered, we would have pwned - because we had such AWESOME people in our team!! :D

And I can't help but think it's probably my fault for not... I dunno... encouraging? Getting people involved? Whatever. OH WELL. It's all done now. Back to Hufflepuff :D I did enjoy the Team Leader thang, but it was SUPER HARD WORK, ZOMG. LOL XDDDD

ANYWAY. I did actually manage to place in things!! Woo!! :D Most of it is the stuff I've already posted...

TEAM BELLATRIX CONTEST #01 [DEATH EATER RADIO]:
01. First Place: HAHAHA. Aww, man, I feel sorry for the other two people who entered because I thought mine was SO LAME. LOL XDDDD I had NO IDEA wtf to write, so I just started and couldn't get out of the bumbling duo that was Bellatrix and Rodolphus XDDDD I swear I was going to actually have some of a srs show in there... but it just never happened, LOLOL.

TEAM BELLATRIX CONTEST #02 [ICON]:
01. First Place: DUDE!! I'm so happy with that! I never place in icons at Hogsmeade!! LOL XDDDD I DID like my icon though... I spent a lot of time trying to find the right crown. The one I ended up choosing was a Celtic on with what looked like two Rs back to back, and it was bronze, so I changed the colouring of it and VOILA! :D

TEAM LUCIUS CONTEST #02 [FAN ART]:
02. Second Place: Aww, yay!! Thank you!! Hillary's was awesome AND funny, so I had no chance of actually winning that one. LOLOL. DDR. HILRIOUS. :D

SO. On another hogwarts_elite note: I spent most of yesterday making my Bellatrix contest entry! :D We have to create something crafty to do with HP and take a photo of it. Well, hands up all those who got fired OVER THE PHONE before work this morning...

0.o Eh... I know, right? Basically the work I was doing was no longer needed. Goddamn it.

Anyway... they gave me two weeks notice, so I have those two weeks so find things I might be interested in. But it's just at the most SHIT time, because I'm GOING AWAY FOR A MONTH IN TWO MONTHS TIME. HELLO?! And now I'm not saving money, I'm losing it. God freaking damn it. GAH.

I dunno... these are my options:

1. Get a shitty job that I can just quit after two months - probably end up doing this one.
2. Move back home next month and try to save money that way (I haven't discussed this option with my parents yet though, lol)
3. Look for work in my industry somewhere like Sydney, where I can live with relatives for a few months, go to the US looking for work and either come back or move over there
4. Look into moving to Sydney permanently

MEH. Annoyed, to be perfectly honest. I kinda saw it coming, but it still sucks.

Oh well. Life goes on, and I have some options to seriously consider over the next couple of weeks. AND. The Universe has given me some consolation prizes in my final nominations for H_E...

Two things just first up :D

First, I JUST BOUGHT AN HD VIDEO CAMERA 0.o Srsly. I feel like I've sold my soul a little, LOL XD It was originally $2300, but I got it for $1679 :D And I pay it off over 12 months :D YES. I AM SO FILMING MY TRIP :D It's so preeeeeety <3 :D And SERIOUSLY good quality :D OH YES.

Second, I had two really weird things happen today with people around me. First of all, I was in Hardly Normal (Harvey Norman) waiting to talk to someone about the cameras, and this woman in front of me just TOTALLY let one RIP in the middle of the shop!! LMFAOOOOO XDDDDD It wasn't a silent and deadly one... it was a total full on, trouser tearing, FART. OMFG. XDDDDD People are so weird, haha XD

And the other thing was, I was down on the waterfront, getting some chips for dinner, and there were these strangely dressed people with bicycles and then, as I was sitting on the bench, waiting for my order, one of them got on his bike AND RODE OFF THE PIER INTO THE WATER!!! ZOMG!!!! NO FREAKING JOKE!! WTFFFF?! XDDD

ANYWAY. LOL. ^^; XDDDD

They had this thing on about the the Summer Heights High spoof song "Naughty Girl", which is from a musical number in the TV show, about a girl dying from overdosing from Ecstasy... and they had this woman on talking about how offended she was by the word "ecstasy" and how children shouldn't even know what the word means.

I mean... okay, two things, lady. First, TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN. SRSLY. Not informing them is only going to have them grow up ignorant. Second... ECSTASY DOESN'T ONLY MEAN THE DRUG. I MEAN. WTF. It meant something else BEFORE it was a drug. If you wanna be an idiot and not talk to your kids, the least you could do is tell them what the OTHER meaning of the word is... I MEAN WTF. GAH.

And then they didn't have anyone from the ABC or any person representing the other side of the story. Fucking hell... srsly... I mean, not that I'm 100% on the other side, but the least they could do is TRY to look like they're not being one-sided.

Cornelius Fudge (1990-1996) - Persistent denial of notorious Dark wizards existence forces Minister's resignation after notorious Dark wizard appears at the Ministry of Magic (Well, DUH)

A few other points of interest in regards to HPDH were the following (whether they're true or not)

• The allegation by goblin King Ragnuk the First that Godric Gryffindor had stolen his sword - interesting for obvious reasons.


• Towards the end of his life, Salazar Slytherin reconciled with the other Founders of Hogwarts School and returned to the castle to die - Unlikely, but again interesting. In fact, it's HIGHLY unlikely, b/c the Sorting Hat says that, "And never since the founders four, Were whittled down to three, Have the Houses been united, As they once were meant to be". The circle will be complete in HPDH. :D


• The location and name of Hogwarts were both chosen by Rowena Ravenclaw, who dreamed that a warty hog was leading her to the cliff by the lake. - LOL. Goes with my theory of this happening. LMFAO. Scroll down to the bottom of the entry ;) :D DAMNIT, JKR, GET OUTTA MY LJ!! Or at least talk to me, LOL. XDDDDD


• The Sorting Hat of Hogwarts was stolen and substituted by a group of delinquent students in 1315. The whereabouts of the real hat remain unknown. - Again, highly unlikely. But again, interesting that this is a rumour.


• The world's largest Centre for Alchemical Studies in [sic] situated in Egypt - This is interesting, because it links to two of the other books. Alchemical Studies = Philosopher's Stone (PS/SS), and the Weasleys go to Egypt in PoA (and obviously Bill worked there for a while). Maybe we'll go there in HPDH?


• Inter-country Apparition has been outlawed due to extreme Splinching - it would explain why they're riding a dragon on the Dulux cover. MAYBE THEY'RE GOING TO EGYPT. LOL. And on that note, I've heard two theories where that particular dragon was either Draco or Remus (LOL... mrstater, you're so awesome) in animagus form. Hmm.

AAAAND, just two more things about the WOMBATs, I promise, LOL.

Pick the one that is TRUE:
1. To become an Inferius, a person must havebeen murdered by dark magic - interesting, but most likely false.
2. Occlumency can guard against possession - VERY INTERESTING. VERY possibly true.
3. Dementors are unknown in tropical climates - Hmm. Yeah. I can see it. Especially if Sirius went to a tropical climate in GoF. Get away from them.
4. A curse is stronger than a hex, which is stronger than a jinx - I actually think THIS is the right one. Didn't JKR say that a jinx was comical in some way, a hex was slightly darker, and a curse was dark? So... that means that the others aren't right. Ah well. :)
5. If a werewolf mates at the full moon, they will produce a cub rather than a human baby. - BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!! LOL. JKR, you crack me up so bad. *wipes tears* :D

So, WHERE OR WHERE does the Draught of Living Death come into it? Hermione recites Golpalott's Third Law, which states that the antidote for a blended poison will be equal to more than the sum of the antidotes for each of the separate components... but that's just for poisons. We have two answers there that are ingredients in the potion, one that cures most poisons and one that cures most ailments. The trouble is, if you're practically dead, HOW are people going to get this stuff to you? Shove a bezoar down your dead throat? LOL. I went with Phoenix tears, b/c that'd mean that Fawkes would have to come back to cure Draco when Snape drops him off at the Order, after making the Death Eaters think he's dead. WHAT. IT COULD HAPPEN. XDDDDDD

Phew! You get through all that? LOL. :D
