THOUGHTS: BELLATRIX, DRACO and SNAPE...
'... That Bell girl must've had an enemy no one knows about - don't look at me like that! I know what you're doing, I'm not stupid, but it won't work - I can stop you!'
There was a pause and then Snape said quietly. 'Ah... Aunt Bellatrix has been teaching you Occlumency, I see. What thoughts are you trying to conceal from your master, Draco?"
'I'm not trying to conceal anything from him, I just don't want you butting in!'
I have always found this exchange to be... interesting.
"I'm not stupid, but it won't work" <-- uhm... weird phrasing there, Draco. "I'm not stupid - BUT it won't work?" Like, triple negative, LOL. You have to be intelligent for you mind to be Legilimensed? Uhm... no. I dunno... maybe Draco was extremely flustered, or JK slipped (it has been known to happen, LOL). Or maybe it's my addled brain... whatever, LOL. Any thoughts on that?
How does Snape know it's Bellatrix? Either Bella (and no one else Draco has had contact with), is a very good Occlumens (and is known for it)... or Snape actually got something through Draco's defences... OR, it's the obvious, and Snape knew that Bellatrix was going to help Draco and just assumed. LOL. Though he does seem quite adamant about it for someone who just assumed...
"What thoughts are you trying to conceal from your master, Draco?" - YOUR master? OUR master, surely Severus... (see: Snape is OMG TOTALLY "GOOD", LOL) And why does Snape immediately jump on the Voldemort bandwagon? Surely the first thing you would think of would be in case Dumbledore tried to read his mind, or the Ministry... Draco fobs it off as keeping his thoughts from SNAPE (which is understandable, seeing as it is BELLATRIX helping him, LOL)... but perhaps Snape did see into Draco's mind (that would explain how he knew it was Bellatrix teaching him) and saw that he WAS trying to keep something from Voldemort... in which case... what would that be? That he was failing? Or something else (here's hoping, LOL).
And finally... why would Bella want to know Occlumency? I suppose it'd be handy if she were captured by The Order (because she knows Death Eater secrets)... but it's not as if she's not willing to die for the cause... surely she'd just kill herself for Voldiepants. And she was extremely proud to stand up and show off her alligence to him during the First War... it's not as though she tried to keep anything from the Ministry...
Well... who knows... maybe Bellatrix is actually Regulus. LMFAO. XDDDD
Like I said... it's an interesting conversation.

She asked JK whether R.A.B was a man or a woman, and JK apparently told her not only the gender, but the name of the character.
( That character being... )
So! What do you think this person is still around? Are we going to meet them? Are they alive? Dead? Ghost? Something else?
IN OTHER NEWS. I want a Draco icon. I have a Tom one, but not a Draco one. After much teasing by

JKR: I believe almost anyone can redeem themselves. Harry's (and Rowling's) view in book 6 was that Draco, given all the time in the world, would not have murdered Dumbledore.
... *wibbles*... Oh man... I am so proud of him right now. *cries*

Jo Gives Additional Black Family History for Book Aid Auction
Previously we told you that author J.K. Rowling would be donating an item to auction in order to help Book Aid International, a group that helps support literacy in the world's poorest countries. This item was a handwritten paper from JKR. Today, the Daily Telegraph newspaper has a preview of this item. Reader Tony let us know that it is the Black Family Tree, portions of which were in the paper today. Readers will remember of course, we first learned of the tree as it was on the tapestry at Grimmauld Place in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He writes:
"There are several familiar names visible, including Callidora who married a Harfang Longbottom. Her sister Charis who married Caspar Crouch. Intriguingly there is a Dorea (1920-1977) who married Charles Potter and had one child, a son. The time frame seems to be consistent with them being James' parents. "
He also says there is another listing of a name that is very intriguing to Potter fans "Arcturus Black (1884-1959). " The article goes on to mention these items will be on display Monday, February 20th at 24 Maddox Street London W1. Tickets to this event are £10, with proceeds going to charity. This paper from Jo , along with others, will then be auctioned off the next day. Thanks very much to Bald Tony and Michele for the heads up! Anyone with scans please send them in!
Also, think about this: Callidora Longbottom, and her sister Charis Crouch... OMFG... Crouch Jnr. crucioed his reletives to a psychiatric state! Wow, what a family! And we know James' parent's names! Dorea and Charles Potter. James Charles Potter! Sooooo cool!
Callidora means "Gift of beauty" and Charis [pron. KAR-is or KAY-ris] means "grace or kindness"
Caspar means "treasurer"
Arcturus is the fourth brightest star in the sky: only Sirius, Canopus and Alpha Centauri outshine it. "The Bear Guard" Again with the stars... lol. Well, it can't be Sirius' dad, because he died before Sirius was born (not to mention Regulus), so I wonder why it's "very intriguing"...
AND... I just have to gloat now... I HAD JAMES' DAD CALLED CHARLES!!! Either that or Harold, I was tossing up between Harry having his namesake and going royal family... lol. W0ot! lol.
Dorea is French and means "of the sea"
SOOOO pyched! PLUS... I got my fan fiction back!! YAY!!!!!!!!!! :)
EDIT: So, I just had a thought. Traditionally, in pure-blood families, the eldest son takes the first name of their father as their middle name (daughter with mother), Harry JAMES Potter, Genevra MOLLY Weasley (to which J.K. said "Molly, of course", as though this was obvious, and we should have known that). Ron's middle name is "Bilius", and he says he has an uncle by that name (OotP I think, about Thestrals? Correct me if I'm wrong).
BUT.
What if Sirius and Regulus' father didn't HAVE any brothers to give Regulus a middle name with? WHAT IF... Arcturus is their Grandfather, and his first name is now bestowed upon Regulus... whose name would now read: Regulus Arcturus Black. R.A.B!!!
Wow... I'm impressed I got that far! lol.

Rotae

Seems simple enough... but it has to be under 1000 words.
Here's my entry. It might lead to a long fan fiction of Book 7, depending on how much feedback I receive.
