Goddamn it, why was she asked?!?!!! D:<
At least I was right in that it wasn't Pansy, LOL
Wow... I am actually going to be writing AU... 0.o WEIRD.
EDIT: Just a thought, guys... Astoria is three letters away from Victoria and they RHYME :| *changes icon* LOLOL XDDDDD
EDIT EDIT: So... the weirdness continues... Astoria is a character in Discworld, right? She's the Ephebian Goddess of Love, and her story is intertwined with two other characters who are a parody of the beginning of the battle of Troy, which is WHAT, PEOPLE? GREEK :|
Where do my Victoria (descendent of a Greek) and Draco MEET? GREECE.
Paris had to judge who was the most beautiful out of Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite because they had WHAT chucked at them? AN APPLE.
The constellation Draco represents the dragon that guards, WHAT, PEOPLE? APPLES.
What food am I obsessed with? APPLES :||||||| LOL Isn't it funny the coincidences you find if you look hard enough? XDDDDD /EDIT EDIT
Oh, and Jo said something about Remus as well:
"... I wanted Harry to be surrounded by his mother and James and Sirius and Lupin, all of whom had died in a way for him. You know Lupin had laid down his life in Harry's battle, he didn't have to come back, he didn't have to fight. James had died trying to protect the family; Sirius very obviously had died fighting along with Harry, and then his mum who most explicitly had died for him. [...] It was all the previous generation, and they were all strong parental figures for Harry."
Hmm. :|

Where'd you hear that from?! :O
I didn't think he married Pansy. I mean, surely she would have been mentioned in the epilogue if he had. But younger sister of Daphne Greengrass? That's very random! At least she would have been a Slytherin lol.
I don't want her to be a Slytherin though... as much as I love Slytherin House... I don't want him to marry one, LOL. She could be in a different house I suppose... but I'm not going to think about it too much. I'm going AU with this and sticking with my Victoria, LOL XDDD

She'll just switch to Astoria now, I WEEP I TELL YOU I WEEP*merrily ignores this bit of information* LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU JKR.

and honestly i'm of the opinion that there was no literary excuse for the death of lupin, that it not only didn't enhance the plot or effect of the story but rather worsened it by numbing us to the tragedy of the death toll and the overwhelming loss of war itself via "coming upon their bodies" already dead. in addition, morally, i take DEEP PERSONAL offense to the killing off of the ONE CONSPICUOUS CHARACTER WITH HEALTH DISABILITIES. she had every bit the talent to write lupin a significant happy ending. instead, she orphaned his son of both parents right when his life had become all he had ever wanted. as much as one can say "look on the good things and always be able to remember him fondly" were he a real person, i place myself in Lupin's shoes (all my friends and family say that I am basically Lupin with Dumbledore's assertiveness) and resent my dispensable nature in JKR's eyes, in order to sell more shock-value copies of her final book.
It makes me so sad. I revered JK Rowling. She was literally one of my cultural heroes and icons. I thought of her as a brilliant author of literature and a phenomenally healthy role model for young feminist women and anti-bigotry ethics. Now, though she is still these things, she has sold out in other ways. I know you disagree with me, and will provide many reasons why. That's okay. Go ahead, feel free, and I respect that you disagree. <3 But I will continue to be disappointed by Rowling, and place her, intellectually and emotionally, on a literary/cultural level below that of the greats.
I promise this is the last time I will diss her.
I suppose all I am trying to say is, MAN do I understand your frustration <3
I THINK THAT JKR IS SENDING CODED MESSAGES FOR ME TO FIND :||| I mean, she couldn't say "Oh, her name is Victoria and she and Draco met in Greece" and blah blah blah, because that would be WAAAAAYYYY too obvious, so instead she gives me a name that RHYMES with my version and has strong ties to Greece. I'm happy. LMFAO XDDDD
I actually do agree with you on a few levels. I don't believe that they (he) had to die, and she did lose a bit of my respect. But at the same time, I recognise that I had her on a bloody high (and small width) pedestal to begin with, ya know? So I can't blame her for falling off it, haha :D
